SAVANNAH - Sylvia "Wendy" Oostlander, age 67, died Saturday, April 27, 2013 at Candler Hospital following a short illness.

She was born on January 13, 1946 in Sylvester, GA to the late Tom and Jackie McEntyre. Her family moved to Ocoee, FL in 1958, where her father was an Orange Grove Caretaker and her mother a Nurses Aid and later a homemaker. She moved to Guyton, GA with her grandparents and then on to Savannah, GA, where she lived for the remainder of her life.

She graduated from Ocoee High School in 1964, where she excelled in home economics and typing class. She was a secretary for many years at Elliott's Drugs.

In 1989, she and her husband opened Global Pigeon Supplies, which still remains in business today.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father; sister, Toni Bernard and her husband, best friend, and soul mate, Bert Oostlander.

Surviving are her daughter, Jackie Akins of Savannah, GA, her daughter, Tanya Morgan Green and son-in-law Mark Green of Seattle, WA; stepdaughter, Julie Evans and husband Glenn Evans of Savannah, GA; stepson, Bobby Oostlander and wife Tammy Oostlander of Ellabell, GA; grandchildren: Johnathan Akins, Isabella Green, and Miles Green; step-grandchildren: Jeremy Gillespie and wife Karen Gillespie, Brandon Oostlander, Amber Oostlander, Shawn Evans; step-great grandchildren, Connor, Chloe, and Dale; a brother, Gilbert McEntyre of Orlando, FL; and a sister, Linda Mixson of Ocoee, FL, along with many nieces and nephews.

The family will have a celebration of life for Wendy Oostlander on Friday, May 3, 2013 at the family home at Wilmington Island, GA beginning at 6:00 pm. Please call for directions 912-897-3540.
